Porcelain veneers require two visits to Ideal Smile Dentistry. In the first visit, the tooth is prepared by eliminating a small amount of surface structure to create space for the veneer. After fabrication the veneer is cemented to the prepared tooth in the second visit. Typically there are two weeks between appointments, during which the patient wears provisional or temporary veneers. Everyone loves a bright, white smile. Today, teeth whitening is a common and safe oxygenating procedure used to brighten teeth that may be stained or discolored. An essential part of many smile makeovers, whitening, or dental bleaching, is most effective in whitening teeth which have become discolored due to every-day factors including

A dental crown is used when a tooth is too badly decayed, broken, or cracked to be easily restored with a filling. Dental crowns made from porcelain, gold, or other material, are typically:

In many cases, veneers require two dental visits. However, at our Madera or Fresno dental offices, we use CEREC to mill your porcelain crowns, reducing the visits required for your smile makeover.

Fillings are a common dental treatment to repair small areas of decay on teeth. The concept of fillings is not new to dentistry. In fact, dental fillings have been used for years. However, unlike the silver amalgam fillings of the past, today's fillings are made from a composite material that more closely resembles the color of your teeth. These composite fillings are less conspicuous than amalgam fillings, making them ideal for use in smile makeovers.

At Ideal Smile Dentistry in Fresno and Madera, we prefer to use tooth-colored fillings over metal fillings, not only for aesthetic reasons, but also for quality purposes. Unlike metal fillings, which have been known to corrode and expand over time, which may actually weaken a tooth, composite tooth-colored fillings chemically bond to teeth, improving the structure of the tooth.
